If you had been sitting on this mile stone in 1735 you may have been quite startled as Dick Turpin hurtled past on his famous ride from London to York. By 1960 this was the very busy Great North Road. It was then cut off by the new A1 which cut the village in half, leaving this little piece of history to mellow quietly into its surroundings
The cache is not located at the milestone, but a few yards away. To locate the cache proceed North Eastish 33 paces to find the cache in a common hiding place. To help calibrate your paces the road is 10 paces wide.
