Geocache Description:

Inspector Morse

 " The Colonel...the Dagger---and the...Dead Dog"

The Grandfather clock in the Hall was obviously One hour ahead of time.

Hidden behind the Grand Piano was a bloody dagger and a Rolled-up Bloody Rug.

Resting beside the Colonels body were six medals .... scattered about.

Eyes open and fixed on the ceiling, the Colonel was breathing his last.

Entering the mayhem of the Study, Morse rapidly assessed the Suspects.

Eight figures staring down as the Colonel tried to say something.

I think I shot huh - huh - huh..h-h-h-..” were his final words !

Getting the gun from his clenched fist-- Morse saw that it had been fired just once.

He smelt of expensive Cognac, Cigars and Cordite.

The bloody wound over his heart was deep and had done its work.

Flowing blood had stopped its treacherous vacation of the prone body.

Only the deep glaring hatred from those in the room, followed him.

Undisturbed by the events a Siamese cat walked gracefully in and purred gently.

Recognising his assistant.. Morse ordered him to let no-one leave the West Wing.

The situation was clear...'Murder most Foul' and the killers was very, very close.

Heatherington the Butler said that he was in the North Wing and heard nothing.

Ronald the gardener had been pruning trees and had cut his arm with a saw.

Edmund, the Colonels son was going to inherit everything.

Except for the Mansion in Southern France which would go to Vicar Dibley.

..--...Father Dibleys daughter Chalotte, was clearly in love with Edmund..--...

Interestingly, the Chauffeur had just buried the Colonels favourite Hound.

Veterinary Tobias Smith had been unable to save the dog of recent gunshot wounds.

Even, Bertha the Chambermaid was covered in blood from the Hound.

Nothing had passed Morses deductive abilities and the killers days were numbered.

Inspector Morse realised that he had not missed any vital element.

Now..--- was the obvious time to arrest the two killers.

Exposing them was going to be a Delight....

But the question remains “Who killed the Hound” ?
