Geocache Description:

This will give you a nice tour of the area around Crimson Lake.  Most of the locations can be driven to, but one of the waypoints, and the final will be a short hike requireing your own rout finding.

I love finding Brass Caps! Since OFTH has only listed 2 for the Rocky Mountain House area, I have built this multi so that I could find a few more.

To find this cache, you will need to record the numbers stamped on the 4 survey markers indicated by the 4 way points and use them to solve this simple puzzle.  Although the order you find them in is not important, I think it will be a little quicker to do them in reverse order.

WARNING: There is a 3 foot deep post hole adjacent to WP2. Please watch your step.

Seasonal Conditions: Obviously, Brass Caps are much harder to find in the winter. WP1 and WP3 are well marked with Ground Posts, so could be doable, but the other two will be quite tough with snow on the ground. As for the final, it is winter friendly. The area is a little muskegiey (though not too bad) so winter may actually be preferable.

Rules: One of these markers is destroyed (there is still the anchor you can find); in your solution, just use the WP number for this one {eg "3rd number of WP5" would be 5}. WP1 is a Canadian marker unlike the others that are Alberta markers; use the 4 digit alphanumeric 'number' on the center of its manhole cover.

A = Last number of WP2

B = First number AFTER the year of WP4 + 3

C = First number of WP1

D = Last number of WP1

E = Last number of WP4

F = 2nd last number of WP3

N52° AB.CAD' W115° EC.BDF'

I have included a Travel Bug Patch as a FTF prize.  Happy Hunting!!

Note about WP4: I got to this one from the SW. There are some oil roads visible on google maps aerial view (maybe others as well) that I used to get close. I think that this is the best way to get to this WP. If you chose this rout, you will find a gate (at N52° 30.353' W115° 1.832'). There are signs here with information on access. I would suggest parking here, even if the gate is unlocked. If you drive past the gate you could get locked in. When I arrived, the gate was unlocked, I biked from there... When I got back to the gate, it was locked.

PS, like the brass cap cache, the WP hints are from the survey data base and may not be current. I did fix some of them a little, but no guarantees.
