Baggrow station was situated on the Bolton loop of the Maryport and Carlisle Railway. The line was used for transporting coal and miners to the pit at Brayton Knowle Colliery. The station open on 2 April 1866 and closed 22 September 1930, though freight trains continued to use the line until 1952.
Down the hill can be seen the remains of the bridge that took the railway over the road and above the garden is railway embankment.
