Geocache Description:

A SCAR2014 Cache that is not to be sought, found or logged until after 530pm on June 20...logs before that time will be deleted and the offender shall be sent to 'boot camp' devil!  This is another in a series of caches I have hidden NEAR  Detachment Dundurn but not on DND or private property.

You are seeking a micro cache, might be tricky for some, I'll keep tabs on this one and increase the difficulty rating if there are a number of DNF's.  I don't think there will be but that's easy for me to say-I hid it right?  I'm not going to lecture anyone, that is just a DRAG, but please please please handle the host with extreme care-it is a bit delicate-and rehide the cache so that future cachers can enjoy the challenge of this hide.  I don't believe in 'trickery', but this one is a bit 'creative' I hope!wink

Yes, there is a song named BELLEAU WOOD-it is by Garth Brooks and was one of my late husband's favorite military-inspired songs ever.  Sadly, it was also played at his military funeral in 2004.

The Battle of Belleau Wood(June 1-26, 1918) occurred during World War I, near the Marne River in France.  The battle was fought between the US Second and Third Divisions as well as French army and British Corps against an assortment of German units. The result was an allied victory but with almost 2000 deaths and almost 8000 wounded on the allies side alone.  This battle has become a deep part of the lore of the US Marine Corps(Source:Wikipedia)

Despite the horrific nature of this Battle, the song is beautiful-set on Christmas Eve ..."Oh the snowflakes fell in silence over Belleau Wod that night For a Christmas truce had been declared By both sides of the fight As we lay there in our trenches The silence broke in two By a German soldier singing A song that we all knew...Though I did not know the language, The song was Silent Night....For just one fleeting moment The answer seemed so clear Heaven's not beyond the clouds It's just beyond the fear....." Once again, I urge you to listen to this song on YouTube...there are valuable lessons to be learned in such beautiful lyrics...
