Another cache I found a home for while out scouting available spots for some SCAR hides. I placed this cache here because I COULD and because I have always loved horses and I stilll like this old classic tune by AMERICA. It was released in 1972 and despite it being BANNED by some US radio stations, because of supposed drug references, the song ascended to number one of the US Billboard Hot 100 and the album quickly reached platinum status.
The interpretation of the song as a drug reference comes from the fact that 'horse' is a common slang term for heroin. If you actually read/listen to the banal, oddly phrased lyrics, one might wonder what influences may have been at work but no matter, it's just a nice laid back type of song that should simply be enjoyed, not over-analyzed?
This is a quick park and grab- great one for the little ones in your family if you have children. There is ample room to pull off the road while u search for this cache.
Here's a sampling of the rather unusual lyrics ... "After two days in the desert sun My skin began to turn red After three days in the desert fun I was looking at a river bed And the story it told of a river that flowed Made me sad to think it was dead... After nine days I let the horse run free 'Cause the desert had turned to sea There were plants and birds and rocks and things there was sand and hills and rings The ocean is a desert with its life underground And a perfect disguise above... You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name It felt good to be out of the rain In the desert you can remember your name 'Cause there ain't no one to give you no pain...."
