Geocache Description:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the coordinates above. I'm sure they would take you to a very nice location where you could enjoy God's creation. However, if you want to find this cache, I don't recommend going there; I recommend solving the puzzle instead.

Note: This cache is being published in conjunction with GC58V0Q, The Miami Valley Caching Conundrum #5.

This month's topic is Dominosa, and this puzzle requires you to solve a moderately difficult board using dominos up to 9. The idea for this puzzle was shamelessly stolen from MLZH's excellent GC57KDN -- Brain Pain: Dominoes Domination.

A set of dominoes from 0-0 to 9-9 are laid out in an 11 x 10 rectangle. Some of the dominoes are vertical and others are horizontal. However, all boundaries between the dominoes have been removed. The puzzle requires you to use logic to determine where the original boundaries were and whether the dominoes are vertical or horizontal. Once solved, you can obtain coordinates using the procedure described below the puzzle.

The puzzle is shown below. As a help, the 55 dominoes used in the puzzle are shown below the puzzle; each domino is used exactly once. Dominoes appear only in horizontal or vertical positions.

Coordinates are of the form N39 46.UVW W084 03.XYZ. Obtain the missing digits using the formula below:

Note: to count number of vertical dominoes in a row, obviously only 1/2 of the vertical domino will be in the specified row, but still count it as 1 domino.

A = number of vertical dominoes in Row #1.
B = number of vertical dominoes in Row #3.
C = number of vertical dominoes in Row #5.
D = number of vertical dominoes in Row #7.
E = number of vertical dominoes in Row #9.
F = number of vertical dominoes in Row #11.

G = number of horizontal dominoes in Column #1.
H = number of horizontal dominoes in Column #3.
I = number of horizontal dominoes in Column #5.
J = number of horizontal dominoes in Column #7.
K = number of horizontal dominoes in Column #9.

U = A + B + D - I
V = G + J - C - E + F
W = C + D + K - G - I
X = D + E - A + J - K
Y = A + C + D - F - H
Z = B + D + K - E - H

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
