This is a fairly easy cache to find, so if you plan on hunting for the Pipestem Crypto Cache on the same visit, you should do this one first. It is located under a rock and covered with a couple other rocks and leaves to help camouflage it since it is located very near where the Dogwood Trail and a horse path intersect. Please be sure to cover it well after finding it, and be on the lookout for those “non-geocachers”! The easiest place to start for this one is the parking lot at the Nature Center, you will be very close.
We put quite a few items in this one to make it a fun find for everyone. We also put in several of our cache magnets, everyone can take one of these without needing to exchange anything for them. While at Pipestem, be sure to enjoy the many activities and recreational opportunities at the park. We jumped 6 deer walking in to place this cache. The surprising thing was that an old doe stayed bedded down and watched us the entire time we were placing the cache, and we were there about 30 minutes. She never moved, and we walked out a different route and came within 25 yards of her, and she just watched us the entire time. The cache was about 75 yards from where she was bedded down!
