Geocache Description:

This cache is a super quick little park and grab.

About 30 years ago, before the development of Little Falls and Strubensvalley, this area was the farm Wilgespruit. The micro climate in this valley is mild and as a result there were quite a few large floral farms. The Versteeg farm was where Makro now lies and a second farm, run by the Toxopeus family, stretched from where Clearwater now lies, all the way to where the Little Falls pleasure resort is. The big Cape Dutch gabled house which sits high op on the hill and is now run as a B&B, was the original homestead with a few houses scattered across the farm. A section of the driveway to the big house, which was lined by the most beautiful Jacaranda trees is still visible as Van Damme Street. These houses were all dependant on ESCOM power and had boreholes.

The one farm grew St Joseph lilies and many other plants for the export of bulbs only. The flowers were discarded. Ironically one of the sister farms in Belfast Mpumalanga, which is well worth a visit when the bulbs are in bloom, exports tulips to the Netherlands.

The house in which the AdieA family lived still stands on the corners of Rainbow, Ribbon and Rapids Streets. Many of the Little Falls streets were named after the Eastern Transvaal waterfalls, ie: Sabie, Horseshoe, Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Mac Mac and Berlin falls.

This cache is a baby magnetic nano.
