Geocache Description:

This small lady sleeps just off Offa's Dyke- the historic boarder between England and Wales that attracts many visitors each for it's history and views. Her name is Myfanwy.

She's brought you to this spot just off the offical path because it's easy to get to via car and on a route many walkers would take. It also boasts panoramic views on a clear day that a camera just can't capture.

Also this stretch of Offas Dyke was recently found to probably be one of the oldest. "Excavations by the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust in 2014 focused on nine samples of the Dyke near Chirk. Radio carbon dating of redeposited turf placed the construction between 541 CE and 651 CE, and lower layers of construction are dated to as early as 430 CE. This evidence suggests that the Dyke may have been a long-term project by several Mercian kings"

As you're already there, mt wood has a picnic site if you carry supplies to refuel for more geocaching!

So come come visit Myfanwy and her woodland friends, she's not very big and tucked away safely.
