Cache Description of “Out”standing View
This cache overlooks the Thompson River Valley above Ashcroft. Please be aware that much of the area where this cache has been placed is “open-range”, and therefore please be on the look ”out” for cows and cow patties! Please be sure to close all gates behind you! The slopes are fairly steep and you are also advised to watch out for low pad cacti with very sharp needles. Closed shoes or boots are definitely recommended! Also, be sure to bring plenty of refreshing water, especially on hot days. This is a strenuous hike along the “3 Meadows Trail”!
Bring your camera and enjoy getting “out” into our beautiful area!
“OUT14” Series Description
Mooogirl’s father & mother emigrated from Holland to Canada in the early 1950s, and for most of the family’s life they ran a dairy farm in Deep Creek Valley between Salmon Arm, Armstrong, & Enderby, BC. From her geocaching “handle”, it is obvious that she still identifies strongly with the dairy life in general and “koeien” (cows) in particular!
Her maiden name, “Out”, has always been a source of amusement, such as the fact that friends were always happy to visit the “Outhouse”! In that “punny” spirit, we offer a special series of geocaches as part of the “Passport to the Gold Trail” 2014 Gold Country event.
