LE SITE :
Le Lamentin est la deuxième ville de Martinique derrière Fort-de-France sa voisine. Tournée vers l'industrie et les services, cette commune très active est devenue le poumon économique de l’île. Situé à la sortie Est de Fort de France, le Lamentin occupe le fond de la baie. La commune dont l'origine remonte à la fin du XVIIème siècle a connu un développement très rapide dans les années 1960, avec la création de plusieurs zones industrielles de grande envergure. C'est aussi au Lamentin que se trouve l'aéroport de l'île, dont la piste est en partie construite sur la mangrove. Le reste du territoire de la commune est quand à lui plus rural, avec ses vastes paysages de champs de canne.
Tout est piloté par son nouvel Hôtel de Ville qui a été construit en 1998, face à l'ancienne mairie, cet édifice de style post-moderniste fut conçu par l'architecte Alex Pierre-Louis. C'est un bâtiment dont une partie du toit est en forme " bakoua " (notre chapeau traditionnel). Son clocher est le point de convergence de deux axes majeurs : l'un vers l'ancienne mairie et l'autre vers le marché.
En même temps une grande place a été construite au nom d'Antonio MACÉO (1845-1896) : Général de l'armée libératrice durant les guerres d'indépendance de Cuba. Symbole de sacrifice, de générosité humaine, de noblesse, d'orgueil national, d'esprit révolutionnaire.
Situé face à la nouvelle mairie, on trouvera son Buste en bronze qui date de 1998 (Inauguration de la nouvelle mairie).
LA CACHE :
Quand vous aurez garé votre voiture sur le bord de route, le site est très facilement accessible. La cache de Petite taille est placée à l'intérieur du site. Faites preuve d'une grande discrétion parce que les endroits sont fréquentés assez à cause de son accebilite, et en plus à votre droite un peu plus haut se trouve les bureaux de la police municipale.

THE CACHE :
When you will have parked your car on the roadside, the site is very easily accessible. The small-sized hiding place is placed inside the site. Show a big discretion because places are frequented enough because of its accebilite, and in more in your right a little more is the offices of the local police.
