Geocache Description:

This cache is located just off a hiking trail located at the Austin Dam Memorial Park.

Getting to the cache is a fairly easy hike, but the main purpose is to introduce folks to a little bit of history. Special thanks to the Austin Dam Memorial Association for allowing the placement of the cache on this site.

- The entrance of the Memorial Park is just North (0.85 miles) of the dam on Route 872 (N41°39.896 W078°05.346).

- After turning off Route 872, make the first left and drive about 9 (NINE) tenths of a mile to the upper-level parking area.

- After parking, walk back on the road you just drove in on for about 1 tenth of a mile to the hiking trail which will be on your left. The trail starts off on a short steep grade, but then quickly levels off. The cache is located about a half mile from the parking area.

- After finding the cache, please take time to visit the "dam" area (sorry, couldn't resist). The bulletin board on the upper level parking area has information regarding the history of the dam. Enjoy!
