Part of the 'Roman Route', a 2.25 mile circuit taking in Orchard fields, an ancient Roman Fort. The walk also features a strole through the willow woods, along the banks of the Derwent, and into the pretty village of Old Malton, before looping back towards Malton.
Stealth required here. You will need tweezers. This cache is named after the shortest reigning emperor of the Roman Empire. Aptly named as this cache is a nano.
Welcome to the new series around my home town. This can be done in any order, but the car park listed as a waypoint is free, so makes sense to start here. All directions assume you follow the order numerically. I have not listed this as push chair friendly, because there are rough and potentially muddy bits, but if like me, you don't mind muscling your pushchair around a bit and exposing your charge to a roller coaster ride, then go for it. This whole route is very heavily used by dog walkers, so I am a bit worried about potential muggle interference, especially as I have used some large containers! So if you ensure the caches are well hidden after you visit, I would appreciate that. I have tried to make this child friendly, but there is a couple of roads to cross, and the track goes close to the river, so close supervision recommended. Stealth is required, due to the route been so popular, if you prefer the kind of walk where you can swing your GPS round your head singing a Geocaching song, then try my other series on Scarborough road! From the carpark coordinates, turn right onto town street, and when slyly signed, move on up the village crossing the road at some point, and heading left down Westgate.
