Another cache named after a Fleetwood Mac song! There was room in the area for a cache so why not this one-a small lock and lock container. Should be simple park and grab...Rhiannon is not a trickster, she would like to be found and visited once in a while!
Rhiannon was written by Stevie Nicks in 1974, three months after joining FM, and she has claimed that it took her 10 minutes to write. Nicks discovered the name Rhiannon in a book called TRIAD and liked the name so much she wanted to write a song about a girl with the name. She later learned that Rhiannon originated from a Welsh Goddess(some say 'Witch'). (Source:Wikipedia) The story behind the song is quite interesting and can be read online of course.
Watching Nicks perform this song LIVE is the best way to hear it....there is a theatrical intensity to her performances that you have to see to believe and her vocals are so impassioned that Mick Fleetwood is quoted as referring to it being like an exorcism! If you can't see this done LIVE, check out YouTube-it's a beautiful song performed by an amazing singer/songwriter!
"Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night and wouldn't you love to love her? Takes to the sky like a bird in flight and who will be her lover? All your life you've never seen woman taken by the wind...Would you stay if she promised you Heaven? Will you ever win? ....." (Source:AZlyrics.com)
CONGRATULATIONS TO FOURTHEFUN FOR BEING FTF ON THIS CACHE AND SO MANY OTHERS IN THIS SERIES.
