Cache is a camo'd ammo can. Take care not to cross the fence. Please rehide exactly as found for the next cacher. Plenty of room for trade items and travel bugs. I have placed a fair bit of SWAG in to start off. Make sure to read the story about how this cache got its name. Also tread lightly there are many unmarked graves in this cemetery.
How many deaths occur in a cemetery? One happened here May 22, 1962 Eugene S. Gault – Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Troy, AL Tuesday, May 22, 1962, Eugene Gault, a 43 year old chiropractor, with no known criminal record, hung a sign on his Pratttville, AL office door which read: "Emergency, called out. Please call for appointment Wednesday. Around 2:30pm, Gault, a quiet, mild-mannered man entered the Bank of Ozark in Ozark, AL and went straight to the loan cage where Fred Flowers, the bank vice-president was standing. Gault climbed up onto the loan cage and shot Mr. Flowers. Gault then hurried to the end of the room where he slowly and deliberately raised his .45 caliber handgun killing teller, David Jackson. Gault fled the scene, with no money by all accounts, heading north from Ozark (Dale county) Alabama. Word spread that the bank robber was headed north and a young Troy police officer, Hayden Youngblood went to the first service station in town to ensure the owner had protection. Officer Youngblood was crouched by the front door when the suspect drove his vehicle around the front of the building. Gault fired a single shot hitting officer Youngblood in the chest, killing him. Several officers and local citizens pursued Gault through town to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located northeast of Troy, AL. All means of escape exhausted, Gault attempted to hide behind several tombstones located in the cemetery. Officers opened fire fatally wounding the bank robber. Evidence of the gun fire is still visible on the tombstones nearby. How many can you find? After his death, officers located notes in his apartment, outlining his plan to rob the bank and a paper outlining 13 steps for a successful bank robbery. Also found in his apartment was evidence that he robbed a bank in Auburn, AL in Dec. 1960.
