Rincon.... Pueblo de Bellos Atardeceres y la Capital de Surfing en Puerto Rico
Quien no ha visto un bello atardecer desde la costa de Rincon no tiene idea de lo que se esta perdiendo. La Asocaicion de Geocachers de Puerto Rico te invita a que recorras y visites ester hermoso pueblo en la punta mas oeste de nuestra isla. Una vez recorra los diferentes lugares y algunas de sus hermosas playas, de seguro no te querras ir.
Fue para el año 1898 que se llevó a cabo la construcción del faro a finales de la década para cubrir el espacio entre los faros de Punta Borinquen y el de Cabo Rojo. Sin embargo este lugar quedo destrozado luego del terremoto que ocurrio para el 1918. Fue entonces para el 1921 que se se reconstruye el faro, por la Guardia Costanera. El Faro que originalmente era llamado como el Faro de Punta Higüero, en el 1953 se le cambia el nombre al Faro de Punta Higüera. Hoy en dia es un hermoso lugar para ser visitiado por las familias. En 1993 el Faro de Rincón fue convertido en parque pasivo con bohíos y miraderos desde donde se puede observar la isla de Desecheo además de la antigua planta de estudio y experimentación nuclear Bonus y varias playas de utilizadas para surfing.
Hemos puesto un cache en este lugar desde donde tendras oportunidad de tomar buenas fotos del area de la costa. Esta area es bien frecuentada por muggles asi que hay que tener mucho cuidado en el momento de la busqueda del cache. Por favor, NO COMPROMETAS LA SEGURIDAD DEL CACHE.

Rincon... The city with the beautiful Sunsets and the Surfing Capital of Puerto Rico
If you have never seen a beautiful sunset from Rincon's coast, then you have no idea what you are missing. The Association of Geocachers of Puerto Rico invites you to go through and visit this amazingly beautiful city in the most western point of our island. Once you visit the different places and some of the splendid beaches, without a doubt you wont't want to leave.
The construction of the lighthouse began in 1898 (towards the end of the decade) to cover the space between the lighthouses in Punta Borinquen and in Cabo Rojo. However, this place was destroyed by the devastating earthquake in 1918. It was then in the year 1921 that reconstruction for the lighthouse began for the Coast Guard. The lighthouse was originally called "The Lighthouse of Punta Higüero", but in 1953 it was renamed to "The Lighthouse of Punta Higüera". Today, it is a beautiful place to visit with the family. In 1993, Rincon's lighthouse was converted into a passive park with gazebos and vantage points to look out into the ocean to see the island of Desecheo and to the shore where the former nuclear and experimentation plant is. You may also see various beaches for surfing.
We have the cache in this place where you will have an opportunity to take great pictures of the coastal area. This area is frequented by muggles, so please be very careful while hunting for the cache. PLEASE DO NO COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE CACHE
