Geocache Description:

[EN]The square was renamed in 1956, after the death of Yakub Kolas. In the center of the square there is a big monument for Belorussian writer Yakub Kolas. The monument was built in 1972. In the sides there are two smaller sculptures – they are characters from his works «Сымон-музыка»  (“Symon-Music”) and «Дед Талаш» (“Uncle Talash”).  «Дед Талаш» - it’s prototype of Vasiliy Talash, national Belorussian hero, who was partisan defended his land during the Soviet-Polish war.
