This event will take place as follows:
- Time: 11h00 - 16h00
- Date: Saturday 16 August 2014
- Venue: Private Lapa, Palmiet Nature Reserve.
Arrangements have been made with the Palmiet Nature Reserve for exclusive use of the Lapa and in return they have requested a small donation per attending team - a cache container will be available for your donations and these will be handed in after the event. The suggested donation amount is R15 for adults and R5 for children under 12. Your donation will provide funds for reserve upkeep and alien eradication!
The published co-ordinates are for the lapa and braai area.
Please bring your own (m)eats and drinks, as well as half a bag of charcoal. Fire(s) should be ready at about 13h00.
If you have camp chairs, please bring them as seating could be limited if we get the same crowd as last year. Folding tables would also be a good idea if you have.
If anyone would like to bring a salad, please advise what type of salad in your "Will Attend" log. This will avoid everyone bringing potato salad or baked beans.
The event will end at about 15h30 - 16h00 so that those who want to get home in time for the SA v Argentina game at 17h05 should be able to do so. Those who want to stay longer can party on.
Groundspeak is producing a special souvenir icon for International Geocaching Day, and this souvenir will be given to all who find a cache or attend an event on this day.
Newbies
This is an ideal opportunity for those new to geocaching to meet up and socialise with other geocachers! And to pick up some tips, tricks and hints for puzzle caches!
It woud be wonderful if everyone could personally invite a newbie to this event!
Trackables
Please bring your trackables along for others to discover.
Please note that there is a CITO event in Palmiet Nature Reserve before the IGD event commences. See Palmiet CITO for details. Please come along and do your bit.
