Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small magnetic key holder, bring your own pencil.  Located near the United Irrigation District building.

The year 1917 was very dry, the year 1918 was even more dry, then came 1919, the driest year ever recorded in South Western Alberta.  The people of Hill Spring, Glenwood and Hartley areas organized for an irrigation district.  The United Irrigation District, or UID,  was completed and went into operation in 1923.  The system was a series of ditches at the time, there are still ditches, but now pipe and pre-built concrete structures is being used more and more.  Glenwood is very lucky to have access to the UID and irrigation water to keep our gardens flourishing
