LE SITE :
Les restes de l'ancienne Habitation Gaigneron se situe sur la commune du Lamentin. On peut la voir juste après avoir quitté l'Aéroport Aimé Césaire depuis la route qui mène à la Côte Nord Atlantique en direction Trinité. Deux anciennes locomotives - ou plutôt locotracteur - avec leurs wagons encadrent l'entrée et rappellent que la Martinique posséda jusqu'à près de 300km de voies ferrées quand l'exploitation de la canne battait son plein à la fin du XIXème siècle. L'allée principale est bordée de cases qui, contrairement aux idées recues, n'abritèrent jamais d'esclaves... Elle furent en effet construites au début du XXème siècle, près de 60 années après l'abolition de l'esclavage. Aujourd'hui l'Habitation Gaigneron demeure une propriété privée, Il n'est pas possible de la visiter mais il n'est pas interdit de s'arrêter en bordure du domaine pour prendre quelques photos.
LA CACHE:
Quand vous aurez garé votre voiture en bordure de l'habitation, le site est très facilement accessible. La cache de Petite taille est placée à l'entrée. Faites preuve d'une grande discrétion parce que les endroits sont fréquentés et il y a beaucoup de trafic de voitures.

THE SITE:
The rests of the old House Gaigneron is situated on the municipality of Lamentin. We can see It having left the Airport Aimé Césaire since route which leads to the Coast the Atlantic North in direction Trinité. Old two locomotives - or rather to locotracteur - with their cars frame the entrance and call back that Martinique possessed until near 300km of railroads when the exploitation of the stick was going full swing at the end of the XIXth century. The main path is lined with compartments which, contrary to the recues ideas, never sheltered slaves... It were indeed built at the beginning of the XXth century, about 60 years after the abolition of the slavery. Today the House Gaigneron remains a private property, It is not possible to visit It but it is not forbidden to stop in border of the domain to take some pictures.
THE CACHE :
When you will have parked your car in border of the house, the site is very easily accessible. The hiding place of Small size is placed in the entrance. Give evidence of a big discretion because places are frequented and there is a lot of traffic of cars.
