A regular sized cache just off Highway 41-where my 'Road Trip' Cache hides started a few months ago. I was going to save this one to be 'just' another Road Trip hide but nope, it's a SCAR ROAD TRIP hide combined! All my road trip caches have one common article in them, it's not a mistake if you think something doesn't really belong in this cache...it does!
There is ample room to pull over safely...you are not yet at the highway and the road you are on isn't terribly busy. Throw on your flashers and go find the cache!
Who doesn't immediately recognize the opening sounds of Born to Be Wild by John Kay and Steppenwolf? Does it 'get your motor running'? Do you crank up the radio as soon as you know what song is playing? That is part of what makes a GREAT road song in my opinion! This timeless classic was first recorded in 1967-described as a 'roaring anthem of turbo-charged riff rock and a slice of '60s revolt' (Source: Wikipedia) It has been used in several movies and tv shows and commercials, with the 1969 movie EASY RIDER possibly being the most memorable as the movie soundtrack is accompanied by the sound of motorcycles as an introduction. It's not surprising that the song is often invoked in both popular and counter culture to denote a biker appearance or attitude.
Now that you have the song playing in your head, go find this cache...and have fun!
"Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space.....
Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die....
Born to be wild
Born to be wild...."
