Series: Panola Mountain Pathways 

Cache Info: This cache is a short hike or bike ride at Panola Mountain State Park just off of the Rockdale River PATH Trail. You will be looking for a container in a wooded area just off the trail. At this point on the trail, you might be going downhill. You're feeling good, but you know you will have to tackle the hill on the way back. Or, you could be going uphill, returning from the Serpentine Bridge, and really feeling the burn by now. Either way, the exertion is good for you! Now is a good time to take a rest on the bench before you go looking for the cache.

This nature preserve, like other Georgia woodlands, has ticks during all but the winter season. Take precautions that include wearing a hat, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants with legs tucked into socks. Wear light colored clothing for ease of spotting ticks, especially deer ticks that are the size of a pin head. Use bug spray with the chemical DEET and especially spray around the ankle area.
