Arltunga Government Works Traditional Cache

Step back in time and visit the Arltunga Historical Reserve.  The Government Battery and Cyanide Works, established in 1898 and continued until mining faded in 1913.

This is a small log only cache located at the start of the self guided walk through the Works.

This facility was used to crush and process ore worked from the local mines, which you can also visit.  The buildings you will see were the offices and houses of the government wokers and the machinery was part of the gold extraction proces.

You will not be disappointed in making the trip out here to see this reserve, close your eyes and imagne what it wuld have been like back in those times.  The sun, the heat and those flies.

So glad I was born in the 1970's.
