USS New Hampshire (BB-25) was a Connecticut-class battleship. She was the last American pre-dreadnought battleship. She was laid down on May 1, 1905 by New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey; launched on June 30, 1906; and commissioned on March 19, 1908.
New Hampshire served in numerous capacities along the Atlantic coast and the Caribbean prior to World War I. She was being overhauled in Norfolk, Virginia when the United States entered the war. For the next 18 months, she trained gunners and engineers in northern coastal waters, and on September 15, 1918 began the first of two convoy escort missions, guarding transports from New York to a rendezvous point off the French coast. On December 24, 1918, she sailed on the first of four voyages bringing veterans home from France to east coast ports.
New Hampshire was decommissioned on May 21, 1921. She was sold for scrapping November 1, 1923 in accordance with the Washington Naval Treaty.
