FAIRBANKS CACHAPLOOZA 2014—PLANES, TRAINS, & AUTOMOBILE
The annual end of summer geocache event is set for September 13, 2014 at the Square Dancer Pavilion in Pioneer Park. Once again, this is a great opportunity to showcase your geocaching skills and puzzle solving ability with an opportunity to win some great prizes.
This year it is even easier to achieve success. All you have to do is be one of the first three individuals and/or teams to correctly perform 6 tasks (which consist of questions, solving a puzzle, and navigating with your GPS) and you will be a winner. And if you come to the event with both halves of a picture of a plane, train, or automobile found in the caches set out in advance of this event, you have already completed one of the tasks. How simple is that!! (Cellphone images of the pictures found in the cache are acceptable). Don’t have time to visit these caches? No problem, you can even participate if you do not have a both halves of a picture. You will be afforded the opportunity to gather them during the event.
Plan on competing as an individual, or form a team and attend, or join a team at the event. To make things even easier, here are the six categories:
- Planes, Trains, & Automobiles
- Together, we can stamp it out
- Brain Busters
- My GPS is better than yours
- Picture this
- Road Trip
However, you or a member of your team must have the ability to enter coordinates into your GPS or Cellphone and navigate. You will be within walking distance of Pioneer park.
So let’s end the summer on a fun note and maybe you will win some irrelevant prizes along with the prestige of being the declared the Champion of Cachaplooza 2014.
It starts at 4:00 PM and sandwiches, snacks and water will be provided. If you want to bring a desert to share, that will be a great help.
See you there.
