The Missing Hearts Mystery N44 48.284 W93 20.071

It was a dark and stormy night, Detective North, was heading out to meet his clients. The traffic was bad when he got to the malt shop, no one was in there except four kids. Thinking he missed his clients, he began to walk out the door. The four kids got up from the table, and ran over to him,

“Hey mister don't leave we need your help” said Patrick.

“Oh you kids called the office?” The detective said taking his fedora off. “I usually don't take on kids cases. I usually get paid.”

“Oh, we can pay you. At least hear us out.” Pulling out the chair for the detective Patrick began telling him. “We need you to find a statue, it was are moms. It was a gold statue of a bird and four hearts.” The detective sat up straight “a gold statue? What would you kids be doing with a gold statue?”

“Our mother is an archeologist and eight years ago she found the statue in a remote reign of Tibet.” Patrick was telling the detective when the waitress brought over their bill for the malts which cost two dollars. “ Let me get that kids and then we can head back to the office.

They detective drove the kids over to the office taking them, as they rolled up to the building a crack of thunder rolled through the night air. “Lets take the stairs we have to go up eight flights but it's quicker than the elevator.” as he started up the stairs.

“Okay, tell me about it.”as the detective grabbed four extra chairs so the kids could sit down.

Barb told the story of the missing hearts statue. “Well mom was on a dig in Tibet, with Professor West. They were looking for the monks of the Heart Order. Mom was digging next to the well when about nine feet down, there was something solid.” Barb taking a break let Patrick tell the rest of the story.

“Mom had said, that soon as she found the statue, the Professor started acting weird, following her, blaming her for mistakes he was making. Like when three days after the find, he left the artifact room open and some of the artifacts were stolen. There were two artifacts stolen included the statue, and now mom is missing also.”

“So you need me to find your mom and this statue?” asked the Detective

“Well actually you need to find statue first, we just got a cryptic letter stating that or we may never see mom again.”

“How long do we have?”

“Zero days” said Patrick as he handed the letter to the Detective. The Detective read the letter for himself. “ They didn't give you much time so they must think you guys know where this statue is. Do you? Unfortunately I can't start until tomorrow”

“We have an idea, we think that it's at the Professors house on Zero Ave.” The next day the Detective went to the Professors house. The house was more like a castle, whistling to himself, while pushing the door bell. There was no response, so the Detective look through the window. He didn't see anyone about so he started to walk around the house, and try to find a way in. After the the seventh window he checked, he found it unlocked. Making his way into the house he notice that it hadn't been lived in for a while. He found the library and started the searching the desk for a clue to where the Professor was. Searching the bookshelves, to see if there was a book that had a false bottom. Pulling at the first book, the book shelf started to swing open. Stepping into what he thought was a hall way, turned out to be a cave, as the bookshelf swung shut. Locking him in the cave.
