Geocache Description:

The first of a number of caches to be placed in this beautiful location on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, and on the coast to coast walk, attracing many visitors from around the world, a perfect place to leave and collect your traveling bugs. and well stocked with suitable local treasures.

This unusual water tower was built for the Arncliffe Estate in 1915, by Sir Hugh Bell, still in use and supplying some local houses and water troughs with spring water fresh from the nearby hills. Nearby there are a number of properties of interest and a well placed information board and perfect spot for a picnic, locally there is a village pub and a short walk towards the hills, the stunning church and Arncliffe Hall, with other interesting caches to be found. The cache container is a 330ml plastic click container with official geocache label. Care was taken to make this a good cache to find as many possible hiding places are around so take care and enjoy the journey, round and round and round the water tower.
