The Crevasse
Along this wooded stretch of the Rockdale River Trail, it is easy to fall into a rhythm when searching, scanning the usual spots, checking under ledges, and looking for the familiar.
But not every hide follows the expected path.
This cache takes its name from a narrow space in the landscape, a small crevasse formed between two closely growing trees. It is simple, easy to overlook, and a great reminder that sometimes a shift in perspective is all it takes to spot what others might miss.
Take your time here. Look carefully. What feels out of place might be exactly where you need to focus.
The Woods and the Field
This section of trail transitions between wooded cover and more open space. Just across the PATH, a wide field stretches out, creating a completely different feel from the trees around you.
It is not uncommon to spot deer in this area, especially during quieter times of the day. Their presence adds to the calm and natural rhythm of this part of the corridor.
If you pause and look beyond the immediate search area, you may catch a glimpse of wildlife moving through the field. Moments like these are easy to miss if you stay focused only on the hunt.
If you happen to spot wildlife during your visit, feel free to capture the moment and share it with your log. You never know what others might experience here on their own journey.
South River Stroll
This geocache is part of the South River Stroll (SRS) series within the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.
This stretch of trail follows the South River corridor, where each stop offers a different perspective on the landscape. Some locations challenge how you search, while others invite you to slow down and take in what is happening around you.
As you continue along the South River Stroll, you may begin to notice how every stop shows you something a little different.
