Geocache Description:

Near the end of the old road bridge between a pub and museum

This cache is in the quaint village of Straide. Parking is available at both ends of bridge. It is a small black covered snap lid box, placed at ground level. Contains log book and pencil; a TB and other souvenirs for the FTF.

After finding the cache, if possible, take time to visit the museum. There is no admission fee. The museum is dedicated to the life of an Irish Patriot and one of the founders of The Republic of Ireland. A short film is available for viewing, with an extensive collection of documents, photographs, letters and postcards on display. Next to the museum is the 13th Century Straide Abbey and cemetery, originally known as the Abbey of Athletan.
