Geocache Description:

Stronach Standing Stone

This cache is a 200 ml screw top container with logbook and pen with room for small swaps.

The coordinates are for the parking area across from the School.

This is a very large and impressive Standing Stone that is very close to the edge of the road. One of the links below shows this stone from the 1940's before it became dwarfed by the trees and hedge. The road can be very busy at times so be very careful when obtaining the clue from it and also when taking Photographs. This can be done as a cache and dash or as a short deviation from the Fishermans walk from the village. There is another fallen Stonach Stone in the woods behind the School. It has been described as ‘hard to miss’. However there has been a great deal of growth since then. I have had several attempts at finding it without any luck although I have spoken to someone who has seen it quite a number of years ago.
