A series walk taking in Piccadilly Wood and the surounding area
Follow the waymarked signs to the track. The footpath here has a sign saying KEEP OUT so you may have to take the track and then turn left along the road. There are horses in this field. The road is busy so take care. When we got to the style it was well overgrown,which we've cut back and the footpath sign points back to the KEEP OUT sign. If you have local knowledge please share it with us.
This walk takes you up above the new motorway services with views over Gloucester and towards the Forest of Dean.
The series is very much a work in progress at the moment.
Setting it took much longer than we thought with foot bridges gone and footpaths disused so had to rethink but wanted to bag the locations since we'd put so much effort into getting this far and won't be able to come back and complete it until July.
Much of the footpaths are well signed but there are parts where we felt we needed to add caches to make the route more obvious.
Clues have been added to the logs but as yet the bonus hasn't been set so please bear with us.
It's up to you if you want to attempt this walk but please be aware there is work to be done on the series and many of the footpaths shown on the OS map are out of date or not obvious and can end in dead ends.
We are confident that this will be a good local walk and through use will make the paths more obvious where they aren't already.
We welcome constructive comments on difficulties or where it may be improved.
