A series walk taking in Piccadilly Wood and the surounding area.
Follow the yellow topped post BUT a word of caution! Cattle obviously shelter from the rain down this narrow section. Its actually not that narrow but if there's cattle in there at the same time... It may be possible to go left of the post and circumnavigate the wooded route and so avoid any cattle and the very boggy conditions we encountered; may have to consider relocating the cache. Comments please. This walk takes you up above the new motorway services with views over Gloucester and towards the Forest of Dean. The series is very much a work in progress at the moment. Setting it took much longer than we thought with foot bridges gone and footpaths disused so had to rethink but wanted to bag the locations since we'd put so much effort into getting this far and won't be able to come back and complete it until July. Much of the footpaths are well signed but there are parts where we felt we needed to add caches to make the route more obvious. Clues have been added to the logs but as yet the bonus hasn't been set so please bear with us. It's up to you if you want to attempt this walk but please be aware there is work to be done on the series and many of the footpaths shown on the OS map are out of date or not obvious and can end in dead ends. We are confident that this will be a good local walk and through use will make the paths more obvious where they aren't already. We welcome constructive comments on difficulties or where it may be improved. Joe & June
