There is a nice little story behind this geocacache. Earlier this year I found myself down in Redding, CA crewing our DC3 with a load of 10 Redding Smokejumpers on alert status for wild fires. This was in February mind you and the earliest I was standing by in alert status for fires that I can remember. I was there for little over three weeks and during that time I had the oportunity to attend a local Valentine's Day Geocaching Event. Let me tell you, even though I was a stranger from out of town it didn't take but 5 minutes before I felt completely accepted and totaly at home as if I've known the gang for years. There was a raffel during this event and it turned out my # was called. There were several items to choose from and one being a cammo geocache container that had a fair bit of craftsmanship put into it. I had the privilage of meeting the geocacher who created this container "SacRiverPirate"! He had a wonderful story behind this Valentines cache. As fate would have it, he met the love of his life "Shampoodles" through this fun hobby of geocaching. They are to be wed this coming July about two weeks from now and guess what their wedding ceramony is going to be.... Yup, a geocaching event!
I decided whenever I finally got around to placing this cache it would be a tribute to them and their love for each other and their mutual love for the hobby of geocaching.
