The Eldridge Park Complex “provides some views of distant Oregon hills and territorial vistas of surrounding Washougal. This conglomeration of parks provides experience of diverse eco-systems, forest to prairie, ponds, wetlands and streams. The site is a popular haven for deer and other wildlife.” Eventually the parks in this compex will provide Washougal’s longest network of trails.
This cache is slightly off the trail in a stand of cedar trees. It is quite close to the parking lot so not alot of walking required. However if you were interested in a double start at the geocache titled “Hidden Park” (GC2RBGJ) and follow the trails to this one. (Round trip under one mile)
This stand of cedars is also home to some wetlands and my personal favorite, skunk cabbage. Please, make sure your path to the cache is a dry one rather than disturbing the wetlands.
The cache itself is a little unusual, as in not an lpc or 35 mm film canister. It is hiding in plain sight, inside of something that looks very much like it belongs here. But for heck sakes, use your geosense and have some fun…
Tweezers will be helpful..Please bring your own writing utensil.
