A Gnomes Garden Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

debsnz: Way points and final are broken and lost in the regrowth. Sadly the gnomes garden is becoming overgrown and is no longer the special place it once was.

Geocache Description:

This is a multi with three waypoints and a final involving a reasonably easy stroll around the start of the Steve Aimes Track.

You are looking for an 'onion' gardening stake at the above co-ordinates. This will give you the co-ordinates and hint for waypoint two. While the waypoints should be easily found, please take the time after you've replaced them to check that they are not visible from a casual observer.

There are a number of ways to reach the picnic area on the Steve Aimes Track depending on how much of a walk you want to tackle first.  The easiest way to get to the start of the Steve Aimes Track and this multi is to park at the locked gate on the Swampy Access Road and walk up the road for about 15 minutes.  The start of the track is 1.2km from the locked gate.  If you want a harder, longer walk start at Whare Flat and follow the Racemans Track or check out Antony Hamel's book 'Dunedin Tracks and Trails' for more walking options.  http://www.silverpeakspress.co.nz/Silver_Peaks_Press_Publications/Dunedin_Tracks_and_Trails/Dunedin_Tracks_and_Trails.html

Once you've completed this multi, wander along the Steve Aimes Track a bit further and pick up 'Just Q' http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCY9NY_just-q-otago
