Velma Elizabeth Kinney was born in Passadumkeag Maine in 1941. She is the oldest of 8. Growing up her siblings fondly called her Pudgy. The name has been passed down and most of my cousins call her Aunt Pudgy.
She grew up in Lyman and attended Kennebunk High School where she met my dad Richard Jones. They had 4 children. After my dad passed away my mum remarried and became Step mom to 3 more. Between the kids and grandkids and great grandkids there are about 18 of us.
She retired after 40 years of banking and seems to be busier now than when she worked full time.
She has been a part of Arundel’s Town Government for about 30 years and is a strong supporter of the Eastern Trail, Hence the reason for this spot. She is also a member of our Historical Society and the Gary Pike foundation.
When she is not spending time with all of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids you can find her in her garden. She has several green thumbs and fingers and grows lots of flowers and vegetables.
