Geocache Description:

Geocache in place through mid-November 2015: A micro-cache in a lovely riverside park.  On a nice day, this can be a busy place with families, fisherman and kayakers enjoying the river views and river access.  The park is within walking distance of the Beacon Metro North station.

When Scenic Hudson bought the 16-acre property that now makes up Long Dock Park in Beacon, NY, it was considered a brownfield and in need of a lot of clean-up work.  The resulting public park is a wonderful addition to the Hudson River Greenway.  After you find the cache, check out Beacon Point, a shoreline installation by George Trakas that projects out over the river--at high tide, the water flows through it.  This park is owned and managed by Scenic Hudson.  Individuals seeking geocaches do so at their own risk and mustfollow the park rules listed on the park's kiosk (www.scenichudson.org).
