In addition to the Grove's magnificent house at the front of the property, the brothers had several greenhouses to provide their home with flowers. They also had a great variety of trees, some of which were unusual to this climate zone. Many of the trees planted by them in 1867 are still on the grounds, and several trees were identified as Pennsylvania State Champions (the largest of their species) in the 1980's.
This property has been the national headquarters of the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius since 1919. The Sisters not only preserved the best of the beauty that ws already on these grounds, but added orchards, vineyards and many small gardens. Take some time to walk the grounds and admire the beauty here.
The cache is small, so bring your own pen.
"Private Property" and "No Trespassing signs do not apply to Geocachers, but if anyone asks what you are looking for, identify yourself as a Geocacher. Lots of people live here, and none of them are muggles. They might even be helpful. No night caching, please.
Also, please be respectful of the "NO SMOKING ON THE GROUNDS" rule that we have. Thank you.
Placed for the 2014 Summer Festival of the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Enjoy!
