The route is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs (although wheelchair users would not be able to access the final few metres) as well as bicycles and there are some outstanding views along the way as well as some tree-sheltered spots. Parking is available at Bedford Sawmills Car Park (Pay and Display) or at other entrances to the Devon Great Consuls Heritage Site.

There are other caches close by, including a multi, GC2Q1FT Smudge's Cache, which at the time of setting this series has not been found for well over a year so there is an opportunity for bagging a find which qualifies for logging GC38DFD Reawakening
This cache can be found close to the path. GPS signal variable because of tree cover. The cache is just a few metres into the trees on the upper side of the path.
