Many caches are interchangeable. Other caches become favorites because of a unique container, interesting location, tricky puzzle or clever hide. One of the last people to find ANLPC (GC19GCF) describes it as brilliant but in need of maintenance. I found a small remnant; a torn ziplock with a tiny scrap from the log. Can somebody resurrect it? (since publication of this cache ANLPC has been archived. There's now a neat new cache in the general vicinity.)
This is a 4 stage multicache. Each stage brings you near an AstroFox cache. Two of these are now archived, I was able to find and perform needed maintenance on a third and a fourth had been flagged as needing maintenance because of a missing stage 1. I found both stages in pristine condition and was able to get one of the reviewers to remove the flag. While you are near these caches, check them out.
Although I didn’t start geocaching until after AstroFox passed away, I have had the pleasure of finding some of his well done caches. Hopefully others will have the same pleasure for years to come.
Stage 1 You are looking for a 3 digit number ABC. The coordinates for stage 2 are N 38 (32.522+ABC/1000) W 121 (47.522-ABC/1000).
Stage 2: You are looking for a coordinate cache.
Stage 3: You will find a sign with three sets of three numbers. Call the digits in the third number DEF. The final is at N 38 33.(D*E)(D*E)(F). You will find a second sign with a cloud filled with words. Convert the first three letters of the second word to digits GHJ. The final is at W 121 47.(G*E)(H/E)(J/E).
