At this point on the Loddon boundary the road enters the Tarnagulla Ward of the shire, just north of Dunolly. This is the historic goldfields section of the shire where the gold rush drew large numbers of hopeful diggers in the 1850s. Substantial towns, like Tarnagulla, developed to service the miners but are now shadows of their gold rush selves. About 5 kilometres to the north is Waanyaara, a former gold town, now more a mecca for geominers! It's histroric cemetery is well worth a visit.
So, geoprospectors, you are seeking a small black-painted yoghurt container. It's better to park on the west side of the road, so be careful crossing on foot.
