Below the top of the hill Tošč (a very popular hiking destination in this area) a short creek rises. Not even the locals who live close by have given it a proper name. They just refer to it as slap (= waterfall), because the creek flows down a steep ravine, over 5 steps. All 5 waterfalls together have an altitude of about 60 meters. The first and the last one are the highest.
Not many people know about this picturesque piece of nature. That is why I decided to hide a cache here and invite you to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of this place.
Important warning for winter-cachers (quote from Icabrian's log, see log entry for 6/23/2014):
"Suggested access is not problematic in warmer months, but can turn into an icy death trap in winter. In winter (if there is no snow), the best access is from the left of the waterfall on an abandoned path that should be visible from suggested parking place."
Here is some helpful advice for your search:
1. The cache is hidden on the little plateau between the first and the second waterfall. The actual hiding place is very close to the first waterfall.
2. GPS reception can be very bad in this narrow ravine (plus/minus 10 to 15m). If you have trouble finding the cache, take a look at the provided hint.
3. You do not have to climb or do anything dangerous to find the treasure box, but please be extra careful when you are approaching ground zero. The area around the stash is very steep (10 meter vertical drop / cliff!). Be aware of the danger and always pay attention! The hike to the cache site can be done with smaller children, but the actual search is not suitable for children!
4. I advise you to wear sturdy hiking boots. If you want to continue to the bonus cache (hidden near the fifth waterfall) bring some hiking poles. The access to the bonus is very difficult. After rain the terrain is even more dangerous, because then the grassy slopes around the upper waterfalls get very slippery.
Please, do not forget to camouflage the box!
Directions - How to get to the cache site by car or bike:
From Ljubljana drive towards Medvode. In Medvode take a turn to the village of Sora. In Sora turn left and drive in the direction of Trnovec / Topol. All the time you will drive in a valley, alongside the creek Ločnica. Follow the road till you reach the end of the settlement Trnovec. On the right side you will see a turnoff. It leads to Grmada, Gonte, Rovtar, etc. Follow this little side road (soon after the turnoff it becomes a gravel road / makadam) for about one kilometer till you reach waypoint 1 (see WP Parkirplatz). From here on follow the given waypoint directions.
Before you start your adventure have a little drink. You will find "Slap 0" in the bend (ovinek) where you parked your geovehicle:

On the way to Slap 1 (shortly after the Waypoint Trailhead) you will see "Slap 0,5":

From here (Waypoint View) you have the best view of Slap 1 and the trail that leads you to the cache site:

Have fun, enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of this place, and have a little rest before you "attack" the bonus!
