For years, the town of Hancock is hosted an annual 5k road race called the Run for the Honey. It uses rural roads including Mill Street, where the cache is located. The road bridge on Mill Street has been washed out for as long as I can remember, with no plans for the town to replace it. Planks were laid down so that walkers and runners could cross the stream.
In the fall of 2011, a lovely new pedestrian bridge was built and named in memory of Betty Pels, who had organized the run for years. The Pels family still lives nearby. Mill Street has been designated a Class A trail, giving the public rights to use it for non-motorized recreation. You can approach the cache from either end of Mill Street, you just can't cross it in your car.
