Garrapata State Beach
There are a lot of great trails and small beach inlets around Soberanes Point and the surrounding area of the state park on the ocean-side of CA-1. Needless to say, the views from the cache site are fantastic, so make sure to bring a camera. The water around this area can be strange surrealistic shades of blue at times and there are even some convenient benches at the top of the hill.
There are two trail-heads that connect with parking areas right off of the highway. Please be careful when parking since in some spots you can't see the traffic that is speeding towards you! Parts of the trail are better defined than others, but one thing that is common about the eastern side of the hill is that it is poison oak heaven. Lots of it. No... even more than that. Be carful not to come into contact with too much of it. Wear long pants, just in case. Poison Oak Information Page.
For more of a challenge, check out the other geocaches that are located in this park such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Cache Creek, and Ladybug Lookout.
