This cache is located in the Lakeland Highland Scrub conservation area about a .3 hike from the trail head.
This is a 551-acre site with a .6-mile trail though a shade and loops back to the trail head. There a 2.2-mile Multi-use trail that take you through an area made up of Scrubby Flatwoods, Marsh area with a boardwalk across it and lots of sugar sand. The Lakeland Highland Scrub contains one of the largest undeveloped scrub communities on the Lakeland Ridge. Many years ago the area was covered by water and now rises more than 230 feet above sea level. There is lots of wild life, wild flowers, trees & plants to see. As always be aware of the wild life around you as some can be dangerous. Please take only pictures and leave only foot prints. Amenities are a parking and picnic area, portable restroom, but no water. The cache is located along the old railroad bed trail about 200 feet off on a small trail. Be sure to take plenty of water, sunscreen and bug spray with you as there is very little shade. "Congratulations to Rhonda H-MI For FTF & your 100th find."
