終戦後、横浜は米軍（進駐軍）による接収地域が数多くありました。特に本牧地区は米軍人の住宅エリアとして広大な土地が 接収されました。これが通称本牧ベースです。正式には米軍横浜海浜住宅地区(YOKOHAMA BEACH DH-AREA)。
本牧ベースは、D-Avenue(現：本牧通り)を境に海側をエリアワン、山側をエリアツーと呼んでいました。
エリアワンは、下士官の既婚者用住宅地区で、ここ大鳥中学校付近は南の端に位置していました。
キャッシュは、歩道添いに設置しました。コンテナは小さいです。ペンを持参して下さい。
Until the 1980s, the vast land of Honmoku district, was used as a residential area of the U.S. military. It was commonly called Honmoku base. The official name is YOKOHAMA BEACH DH-AREA. Honmoku base was divided into "Area One" (the sea side from honmoku street), and “Area Two" (the hill side from honmoku street).
Area One was a residential area for the non-commissioned officers and their families.
Otori junior high school is located in the south end of the Area One.
