August 2024. The river trail where this cache is hidden has had huge renovations by the Council for over a year and it is now an even better place to get down to our river and play.
Most ‘no through roads’ take you to a very ‘dead’ end, and add to the frustration of your day if you are already lost.
Others can take you to a magical spot where only the locals know about. They try to keep it free from ratbags and rubbish and knowing you cachers are very environmentally aware I know it is safe to bring you here to enjoy the surroundings. Sit and watch the bird life or wander along the riverbank and enjoy the quiet space.
Horses used to wander along the banks and sometimes have a swim or a paddle, but when they return I think they will be contained in the recently built yards further along the river. You can wander along and see them but please don't feed them - we don't want chewed fingers.
The sealed path runs all the way into the city and out to the Eastern suburbs, following the River Torrens and giving us miles of fun. Bring your bike next time and trundle off into the city for a little exercise amongst the trees and free of traffic.
