After the success of the midnight flashmob on Coombe Hill this time last year I've had numerous requests to repeat the event again.
At midnight on 30th-31st August 2013 25 people gathered with dogs, geokids and cakes of all varieties to mark the end of the 31 days of geocaching souvenir event. People came from as far away as Essex to admire the night-time view of the Vale of Aylesbury at night, and a fair few had a bash at the nearby award-winning Another Knight Cache.
So this year I've decided to repeat the event again. We'll gather at the monument on Coombe Hill at midnight on 30th-31st August 2014, share cake, caching stories and trackables, and have a bit of a laugh to mark the end of the summer season.
For those who haven't been to Coombe Hill before there's England's oldest cache within an easy walk of the event and a nice easy multi based on information that can be found at the monument. Also just coming up to a year old is Coombe Hill's earthcache, which can easily be done at night.
There's uneven terrain leading up to the monument, so stout footwear and a torch for each person are essential. It's also outdoors and there's nowhere to cover in inclement weather so keep an eye on the forecast and dress appropriately. AND BRING LOTS OF CAKE TO SHARE!
