Waldehuset er et av husa som overlevde bybrannen, og som fortsatt står igjen. Det var flere hus som stod igjen etter bybrannen, men akkurat dette huset knytter det seg en spesiell historie til:
En av de som bodde i huset var en mann ved navn Anders Nord. Nord var sterk i troen og skal dagen før brannen hatt et syn: En engel stod foran han og sa: “Frykt ikke! Jeg er utsendt fra Gud en Allmektige for å si deg at i denne natt skal hele denne by legges i aske for de mange og store synder som drives i den. Men du har funnet nåde hos Gud, og du og din hustru skal ikke gå ut, og ikke bære noe ut som hører dere til, for alt det som bæres ut blir oppbrendt. Jeg skal bevare dere og intet ondt skal ramme dere. ”
Anders Nord sin familie var ikke like sterk i troen som han, og da brannen nærmet seg tok de alle hans eiendeler ble tatt ut av huset og plassert i byparken i et forsøk på å redde dem. I byparken brant alt opp, mens Waldehuset står den dag i dag!
Som ett av husa som har overlevd brannen og tiden etter, har huset en historie å fortelle!

The Walde-house is one of the buildings that survived the city-fire in 1904 and still remains. There are several houses that survived the fire, but this house attaches a special story to: One of those who lived in the house was a man named Anders Nord. Anders Nords family was not as strong in the belief as he was, and when the fire approached, they took all his belongings out of the house and placed in the city park in an effort to save them. In the city park everything burned up, while the Walde-house stands today!
As one of the houses that survived the fire and the time after, the house has a story to tell!
The house was recently opened after being refurbished. It is owned by a trust, and is today a café open now and then.
